Internet linking is now available on GB3OA.
GB3OA runs EchoIRLP and consequently supports
calls on both the IRLP and Echolink networks. Please be aware that it's
an either / or situation, cross linking is not possible (or desirable).
If a call is in progress using IRLP, then Echolink will appear busy (and
vice versa).
To initiate a call to another IRLP node, simply
dial that node's four digit number, to call an Echolink node, prefix the
desired Echolink node number with a "#"
Can users please announce their callsigns when
sending DTMF on the repeater.
There's nothing more irritating (and bad
mannered) than to listen to someone blasting away without knowing who it
is. Please get into the habit of announcing your callsign before (or
after) you send DTMF. It's really easy, just pick up the mic, announce
"<insert you call here> controlling" then proceed to send the DTMF. It's
a good habit to get into.
The repeater is being monitored, and any
excessive abuse or bad practice will result in the linking facility
being withdrawn.
Please refer to the
Linking Page for
instructions on how to use the system.
GB3OA has the same node number (5302) on
both systems.
