The plot shown is calculated using software available here. Click on the image for a high resolution coverage map.

The parameters used are the same as those at the RMC site, i.e. the dark blue area represents a 99% likelihood of mobile and 90% hand held use, the light blue area represents a 90% likelihood of mobile use. The plot for the GB3OA on the RMC site is for 25W ERP, the plot shown here is for what the NOV will be granted for, 5W ERP.

Remember, GB3OA has been designed to provide only local coverage for coastal south west Lancashire. It won't provide coverage similar to the "Wide Area" repeaters such as GB3MP. Coverage in and around Southport on a hand portable radio is expected to be 99%, further away, mobile operation should be possible out up to Preston and down as far as Crosby. To the east, the M6 probably defines the absolute limit. For fixed station operation, these limits may extend further, but don't expect to get glowing signal reports into the box!
